My Costa Rican company, Colibrí, S.A., provides property and business brokerage. With more than 25 years of experience, I can facilitate a wise investment decision. I am primarily a buyer's agent, which means my duty is to my investor clients, not the seller. I have a network of professionals that can see a project from start to finish as well. Anyone may hold title to land in Costa Rica, and legal entities are similar to those in the U.S. Parcel maps are required to register title of property. Costa Rica utilizes the metric system, so land is measured by the square meter, with 10,000 square meters forming a hectare. An acre is very close to 0.4 of a hectare, or 4,000 square meters. In Guanacaste it is now difficult to find land priced at under $1 per square meter, or $4,000 per acre. The asking price at several projects is now $40,000 per acre and some beach areas are priced at $1,000,000 per acre. Costa Rica does not have a multiple listing service/mls, but an Internet search will reveal thousands of properties for sale. I am familiar with the whole country, but I focus on the Guanacaste region, and I am promoting the Buena Vista Equestrian Community. Following is an example of various projects:
