Candidate StatementDoubling of your
sanitary bill is apparent by now. Are
you aware that it is due to bureaucratic failures and financial mismanagement? Millions of dollars
are wasted annually. Local mayors and the Grand Jury have highlighted and issued
scathing reports of the bureaucratic abuse and financial mismanagement of your
sanitary district’s resources during the past four years: ·
sewage
spill lawsuits; ·
hazardous
waste clean up failures; ·
poor real
estate decisions; ·
high
staff turnover despite exorbitant compensation; ·
millions
of dollars in legal fees; ·
and more
hundreds of thousands spent on consultants and lobbying firms to fight any
reform! As a REALTOR® and a
former National Executive Director of the Audubon Society, I am very familiar
with both property owner’s interests and our environment. Together we can stop
this waste of both our money and harm to our environment. For information and

I will be honored to earn your vote. Please vote on June 8th or mail
in your ballot—you can make a difference! Statement from 2008I am involved with public service to promote
sustainable development and transparency in public administration. Both locally
and internationally I have been instrumental in healthcare, educational, and
economic reform. I am running to return the district to a worthy goal it set out
to accomplish several years ago: “To provide the citizens of Marin the most efficient
delivery of local government services, to analyse local government service
providers for the purpose of developing methods to enhance level of services,
increase efficiency of service delivery, provide service personnel stability,
increase interagency cooperation, reduce duplication of services, eliminate
multiple layers of government, improve agency accountability, and encourage
multipurpose agencies.” (Marin LAFCO) As we have recently witnessed in Marin, sewage spills are an environmental and public health concern. Leading an international chapter of the National Audubon Society 16 years ago I was able to draw national attention to watershed management issues, and served as the environmental representative on a governmental commission seeking to enhance the sewage treatment infrastructure. If I am elected as a director of this district, I will work with all parties to achieve meaningful results in our local community.
